This course is designated for doctoral students (LMD, 3rd cycle) in the English Department and Applied Linguistics field.
This course explores ESP as a theory-driven and research-informed approach to language teaching.
It examines the principles of needs analysis, syllabus design, materials development, and evaluation within various Algerian professional and academic contexts (engineering, medicine, business, tourism, etc.).
Candidates engage with authentic case studies, analyze local ESP programs, and design a research-based ESP course prototype.
They will also critically examine the role of English in higher education, employability, and globalization in Algeria.
