Applied Biometry in Animal Production is a course designed to introduce students to statistical and mathematical tools used to collect, analyze, and interpret data in livestock production. It focuses on the application of statistical methods to monitor, control, and support decision-making concerning animal growth, reproduction, milk production, feed efficiency, and health performance. The course covers descriptive statistics, probability, hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, and experimental design, with practical applications for improving farm management and livestock productivity.
his course is mainly intended for Master 1 students in Animal Production in the Department of Agriculture. It is also suitable for other students, researchers, and professionals interested in biometry, data analysis, and biostatistics, especially in the fields of animal science, agronomy, and biological sciences.
This course introduces students to the basic principles of applied biometry and biostatistics, enabling them to collect, organize, and analyze biological and zootechnical data. It develops skills in descriptive and inferential statistics, correlation and regression analysis, experimental design, and interpretation of results to support decision-making in animal production and livestock management.

This course introduces students to recent concepts in precision livestock farming. It focuses on sensors (for movement and temperature) and detection and monitoring techniques, drawing on methods from artificial intelligence (AI). This course also aims to train animal production specialists in the technologies and algorithms capable of detecting or predicting the occurrence of incidents during the production process, thereby improving efficiency and animal welfare.
