Introduction to literature 

This course on grammatical analysis, designed for students beginning to study the discipline. It covers both syntax (the structure of phrases and sentences) and morphology (the structure of words), and equips them with the tools and methods needed to analyze grammatical patterns in English language.The competency targeted by this course, as a whole, is “to enable students to recognize and understand the meaning of the targeted grammatical structures in written and spoken form, and to use them meaningfully and appropriately in oral and written production.”

This course is an introduction to the discipline of  linguistics. It offers a broad overview about language, the scientific study of language, linguistic dichotomies, language classifications, and a short account of the history of linguistics.

Articulatory and Corrective Phonetics (ACP) is an introductory course to the study of the sound system of English. With a focus on the segmental level of speech, the course introduces the basic concepts related to the study and description of speech sounds. It presents definitions of key concepts such as phonetics, with its main branches (articulatory, auditory and acoustic phonetics), and phonology. Through a careful study of speech organs and articulators, the students will learn about the main processes in the production of speech sounds (vowels and consonants), in addition to their classification and description from an articulatory perspective.
